Tropical Oasis Trans-Resveratrol promotes cardiovascular health, long-life, and contains high amounts of free-radical fighting antioxidants.
What is Trans-Resveratrol? How is it different from Resveratrol?
Trans-reseveratrol is the active form of the resveratrol polyphenols. Studies have shown that trans-resveratrol actually increases the lifespan of animals in tests as well as promotes an increase in cell mitochondrial function, which translates into an increase in energy expenditure, improved aerobic capacity, and enhanced sensorimotor function. It is credited with beneficial effects in promoting heart health and longevity.
Why is your source from Japanese Knotweed and not from grapes?
Trans-resveratrol is found in several natural sources. The Japanese Knotweed, however, contains 50 to 100 times more resveratrol by weight than any other natural source, around 187mg/kg. Grapes contain only a fraction of that amount. Since it is considered the best source of trans-resveratrol, that is what we use.
What is the French Paradox?
The French people are well known for their high fat diets and for consuming large quantities of red wine. Despite consuming so much cheese, wine, and butter, their incidence of coronary disease has always remained low. This phenomenon became known as the French Paradox. It confounded scientists how high fat foods correlated to high incidence of heart disease everywhere but France! Researches hypothesized that what made the difference was the red wine. Obviously it was not the alcohol that was making any difference, rather it was likely the resveratrol in the wine that came from the grape skins used in its manufacture.
